Nuvole Garden Hotel

Best Hotel in the world

Nuvole Garden
Lake Como • Brunate
Where Elegance Meets the Sky

Seven hundred meters above the Como-Brunate funicular, Italian architect Achille Manfredini created his original Art Nouveau masterpiece in 1910-1911.
The Grand Hotel Milano was a glamorous retreat for Hollywood stars and famous directors in the 1950s. This unique heritage and location, and the vision of Florentine engineer Emilio Polillo, fueled the fertile imagination of one of the most exciting designers creating adventurous hotel interiors today: Zoltan Varro.Varro has transformed a classic Milanese retreat into an exclusive dream palace of 80 hotel rooms and suites, a spa open all year round, three restaurants, including a top-floor fine-dining destination, and a cocktail bar.
In the building, much like in the tale of Sleeping Beauty awakening from her slumber, the boundary between inside and outside fades; within, the world of gardens comes to life, while in the hotel grounds, the designer evokes the atmosphere of villa interiors around Lake Como. The rest is natural wonder, the vistas of soaring peaks and shimmering waters seen in full perspective.

Accommodation
80 room and suite configurations. The extensive selection of accommodation ranges from generously sized single rooms through to expansive suites. Many rooms offer private balconies or terraces with unrivalled lake and mountain views.

Sole Gourmet Restaurant
the hotel’s flagship fine-dining destination with spectacular views from its top floor, uses prime local ingredients to celebrate the surroundings and deliver worldclass cuisine. Fine dining with a spectacular view of Lake Como. Delight your taste buds at the Sole Gourmet Restaurant of Nuvole Garden Hotel, an exceptional restaurant offering gourmet dishes inspired by tradition and quality.
Located on the hotel’s fifth floor, it offers breathtaking views of Lake Como and the Swiss Alps, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that perfectly complements the refined cuisine under the guidance of Executive Chef Stefano Mattara.
The restaurant features innovative dishes made with the highest quality ingredients and an exclusive tasting menu. The elegant design, inspired by sunlight, makes every dish a unique sensory experience.

BLU Restaurant
on the ground floor offers bistro style dishes and welcomes guests for the morning breakfast buffet lunch and dinner.

The Negroni Bar
stocks a wide selection of liqueurs and spirits so as to mix all kinds of Negroni varieties, among others. Close to the Nuvole Garden stands a Campari fountain, one of a dozen marble monuments placed in key locations around Italy to celebrate the drink’s 75th anniversary in the 1930s. The Bar Negroni is set a Roman pantheon-like space, illuminated by 78 lamps, backdropped by gold and offset by a long bar counter. It operates throughout the day, also providing guests with attractive access to the BLU Restaurant and the Orangery. Hotel guests and visitors can reach the Bruschetteria from outside the hotel for a more casual dining experience a few steps from the funicular. Walk inside for a sense of the real rustic Italy, its warmth and its charm and most of all, its produce. Fresh cheeses, olive oil and prosecco are either served as bruschetta snacks or sold at this upscale delicatessen. Non-guests are equally welcome to sample the bounty of the region, savoring the flavors while admiring the panoramic view and the magnificent façade of the Nuvole Garden Hotel.

Salone
This elegant space for events can be divided into two sections, decorated with embroidered drapes inspired by the Art Deco iron structure of the glass roof in front of the hotel’s main entrance.

Rooms and Suites
The 80 rooms and suites of the Hotel, open year round, are bathed in natural light provided by the sun, which enhances their unique design and the motifs inspired by the surrounding nature. Elegant spaces that pamper the guest
offering stunning views of the lake and mountains.

The Bottiglieria
At the Bottiglieria of Nuvole Garden, the hotel’s exclusive wine cellar, you can indulge in exceptional wine tasting experiences in an elegant and refined setting. The vintage bottles, displayed behind glass walls, tell stories of tradition and quality, while the cellar, designed as a public exhibition, adds an extra touch of exclusivity to the experience. The Hungarian design inspiration is reflected in the Art Nouveau details, with motifs inspired by Zsolnay ceramics, creating a unique atmosphere that blends elegance with tradition. The perfect spot for wine lovers and culture enthusiasts alike.

The Spa
Relax and rejuvenate all year round at Nuvole Garden Hotel’s luxury spa. Beautiful in summer when bathed in sunlight, and enchanting in winter if surrounded by snow, The Spa is inspired by nature and the hotel’s architectural heritage. Here a century ago, the elegant columns of the Grand Hotel Milano rose from the original rock wall, gradually overtaken by nature and unnoticed until designer Zoltan Varro knew he had found the setting for his fantasy spa getaway. The built and natural environment combine to create a secret world within a world, centrepiece by a pool fed by a gushing waterfall. Leaving this behind for Sauna Island alongside feels like stepping into a different century, a contemporary one of dry saunas, steam cabins and treatment rooms for massages and facials. Linking the indoor and outdoor areas, a path continues the Cabana theme of the hotel, palm trees and red-and-white canopies echoing the glamor of a lost age, summer meeting winter along the way.
